about me
Hi, I’m Michele and I’m glad you’re here :)

I am not a great writer. I’ve always envied my husband for his way with words. I photograph weddings to tell love stories through images. To capture honest and raw emotion through the small moments and details, and to make you remember your wedding day as the best day of your lives.

The mother of one of my brides recently said, “You fall in love with your clients, and that reflects in the photos.”

Yup. That’s totally true. I want to get to know you. How else am I going to showcase who you are as a couple if I don’t?

In 2009, my husband, Andy, and I started professionally shooting weddings. We opened up shop using our middle names, calling our business Normand-Ashley Photography. In 2013 Andy started down a different life journey when he entered medical school. He still continues to do a ton of work behind the scenes, and even jumps in on a photo session when he can (so you just might see him around!).

When I first started shooting weddings, I knew it would be ridiculously fun. I wasn’t prepared for how rewarding it would become. I’ve photographed hundreds of couples and became friends with so many of them. I’ve watched families grow… and grow.

I’m in this for the love, because I believe in it.

One of the best (and most important) parts of wedding photography is getting to know you, our clients. The more I know you, the more I can capture who you truly are. And that shouldn’t be a one-way street, you should have the chance to get to know me too! After all, you are trusting me with documenting one of the most important days of your life, and I will be by your side throughout the entire day. So grab a glass of wine and make yourself comfortable. You’ll find some background info on me below (along with some pics- make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom!), and there is plenty about me and my life throughout the blog. I try to update often, so check back soon and don’t be afraid to say “hi”!

Things I Love:

– Sharing a bottle of Old Vine Zinfandel and good food on Friday nights (or any night) with my husband, Andy.
– Getting my steps on (I’m a Fitbit junkie)
– Traveling to new places
– COFFEE
– Cooking with Andy (or watching him cook; I’m terrible at it!)
– New York City. So. Much.
– Candles. My relationship with Yankee Candles borderlines on obsession.
– Dates at Starbucks (did I mention coffee?)
– Our German Shepherd/Chow-rescue-mutt we call Max.

about you

Enough about me, let’s talk about you.

You are cool and funny. You like good food and company. You value your friends and family and enjoy a good laugh. You like to travel (or want to), and you’re adventurous at heart.

You want your wedding day to reflect who you are as a couple. Timeless photos are important to you, and the in-between-make-your-heart-skip-a-beat moments are priceless. You want photographs that won’t go out of style. Photos that will be cherished by your children… and your grandchildren.

about andy

Clients often ask about Andy, so I asked him to jot down some of his favorite things. Here’s his list:

1. My Michele. She is my inspiration and the source of my strength
2. My family. Everything I do, I do for them
3. Running. 3 marathons down, looking for #4 in 2015
4. Cooking. I make a mean channa masala :)
5. Soy lattes. I try to make them at least once a day for Michele and myself.
6. Canon. My brand loyalty may be irrational, but I have accepted that I’m a Canon lifer.
7. Red wine. Goes great with #1 and #4.
8. Playing the guitar. I’ve been playing for over 16 years, but I’ll still only play in front of Michele and the family.
