When we first meet with couples, we try to suggest a meeting location that is comfortable for everyone and conducive to chatting. This usually turns out to be a coffee shop or a quiet restaurant. When Erin & Kyle suggested that we meet at Moan & Dove, a beer bar in Amherst, we knew we would be meeting quality people. Although Michele and I both graduated from UMass in Amherst, we didn’t get interested in beer until I began brewing it myself a couple of years ago, and so we had never been to the Moan & Dove. It didn’t take long before we discovered that Kyle & Erin are hardcore, cut-no-corners, home-brewers. Talking to them was so easy and natural and it soon became clear why they were getting married: they are best friends who are completely themselves around each other. They get each other. After getting to know them, I could not imagine either one of them without the other.
Their wedding took place on a Saturday in October at St. Francis of Assisi in Belchertown, not too far from where we first met them. Although there was a constant threat of rain, it held off completely throughout the entire day. The cloud coverage provided beautifully diffused light, which we took advantage of both outside of the church and at the reception, which was at the Salem Cross Inn in West Brookfield. Salem Cross is definitely one of our favorite venues in the area; the scenery at the inn provides a backdrop that looks so amazing, it’s hard to believe that it’s real. Combine this beauty with Erin & Kyle’s natural emotions in front of the camera, and magic is made :)
Erin & Kyle, we are so happy to have been a part of your wedding. You made us feel welcome and more like guests than vendors. It was so easy to work with you; I hope you get in touch in the future when little Erins and Kyles are on their way!!
